About Lee Brice:
Blame Aunt Henrietta. When you dig into Lee Brice, with its thick grooves, the squalling guitars, the tumbling drums, sheets of steamy B-3 organ and wide open vocals, the two time CMA/ACM/Grammy Song of the Year nominee takes listeners to church, school, home and out on a Saturday night. For a man known for raucous live shows and contemplative songs, there’s a whole lot of gospel driving his fourth album.
“My Aunt Henrietta had the groove,” he says. “She could play one note, and pierce your heart. She played the piano, and when she played she was black — and I didn’t know it, or think about it. I was so sheltered, I didn’t understand; it was just church music – and it felt good! It coulda been Ray Charles, too, but it was all over her playing.”
It’s all over Brice’s self-titled new record, too, which serves as a homecoming and a homing device on the essence of what’s defined the man whose written hits for Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean and the Eli Young Band, who had their breakout single with “Crazy Girl.” There’s a newfound simplicity to tracks like the real life “Songs In The Kitchen,” the soul searching “What Keeps Me Up At Night,” the loving reality check “Boy” and self-recognizing “I Don’t Smoke,” which scrapes Brice’s music to the bone and features guitars by Warren Haynes.
About Easton Corbin:
With two No. 1 singles, multiple awards and nominations, plus performances on some of the biggest stages in the world, Mercury Nashville’s Easton Corbin has made a lasting impression on the country music landscape. He is lauded for his traditional country sound, authentic lyrics and mastery of understatement. American Songwriter says, "Easton Corbin has one of those rare, glorious voices that was made —just made —for singing country music.” His self-titled debut album released in 2010 and spawned back-to-back hits “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It;”making him the first country male artist in 17 years to have his first two consecutive singles reach No. 1. In 2012 the Gilchrist County Florida native released his sophomore album, All Over The Road, which included the Top 5 hits “Lovin’ You Is Fun” and “All Over The Road.”Corbin set a career-best debut on Country Airplay with his top 5 hit single, “Baby Be My Love Song," from his No. 1 debuting album About To Get Real. Corbin spent 2016 on one of the biggest tours in country music -Carrie Underwood’s The Storyteller Tour which Billboard named the #1 country tour of the first half of 2016 Forbes picked it as one of 10 hottest tours of the fall.
Corbin’s current single, “A Girl Like You,” from his upcoming fourth studio album is Top 25 and climbing and was released to rave reviews. Taste of Country picked it as a Critics Pick saying, It takes a fraction of a second to know Easton Corbin is on to something different with “A Girl Like You.”
With all the chest-thumping going on in Nashville today, where bluster and swagger
have replaced heart and soul, you half expect some of country music's male stars to be
sporting bruises. Which is what makes Midland, a trio of friends based in Dripping
Springs, Texas, so undeniably refreshing. Made up of singer Mark Wystrach, lead
guitarist Jess Carson and bass player Cameron Duddy, Midland is the embodiment of
Seventies California country, all smooth Eagles harmonies and heart-on-your-sleeve
lyrics. Their songs are intoxicating, sung with the twang of George Strait.
